	Charles M. Stafford, 78, of Belleville, Illinois, born February 25, 1927 in  Du Quoin, Illinois, died Wednesday April 6, 2005 at Rosewood Care Center in Swansea, Illinois.
	He retired after 32 years as Vice President of Magna Bank-now Regions Bank & 10 years at Bank of St. Louis. He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Belleville, Mariners of the Church, American Legion Post in Du Quoin, Illinois, Downtown Optimist Club, American Bankers Association & Southern Illinois University Alumni Association. He also was a U. S. WW II Army Veteran.
	He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl M. & Carrie nee Chapman Stafford
	Surviving are: his wife, Jacqueline nee Gaddis Stafford; children, David (Friend Donna) Stafford of Freeburg and Charla (Bob) Morton of O'Fallon; brother, Tom (Jane) Stafford of Belleville; grandchildren, Matthew & Mark Morton, Christy (Tim) Spicer and Emily Stafford; great grandson,  Braedon Spicer; sister-in-law, Karen (Roger) Surman of Chester and a dear niece & nephew.
	Memorials may be made to: Southwestern Illinois College Foundation or American Cancer Society
	Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday April 10, 2005 at Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville.
	Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday April 11, 2005 at Kurrus Funeral Home with Rev. Elizabeth Kanerva officiating. Burial will be at Tamaroa City Cemetery with Dr. Fred Cornell officiating.
